Bad batteries

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

You replaced the original battery with a new one, which was great. Now the new one won't charge or work, and you won't replace that one, and it's not that old.

The one that was replaced should have lasted longer than it did.

Good PR would be to replace it. The weed eater is a great tool, but the battery should last longer than 2 years.

Pros:
  • Great tools
Cons:
  • Longer battery life

Preferred solution: A discount on a new battery, sense this one won't be replaced. Thank you

Excellent service.

It was difficult to reach a live representative to handle my claim. In my opinion, Dewalt or whoever is in control does not make it easy for consumers to reach out for warranty issues.

On the other hand, once I had a representative on the phone, it was very easy to get my problem resolved.

The representative was professional, courteous, supportive and eager to help and solve my problem. I was expecting a difficult and negative responses from the representative due to the frustration to reach a live person but that was quickly erased as the call when better than expected in fact I was pleasantly surprised as how it all was resolved in particular how the representative handle the call.

Resolved: Electric Mower is buns — and so is customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Jul 07, 2025

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement.

Updated by user Jul 07, 2025

Update: After a frustrating and frankly exhausting back-and-forth with Dewalt customer service (involving an online repair form that rejected our serial number, multiple disconnected calls, and a fair bit of persistence), we finally got a resolution.Dewalt sent us a shipping label, took the original mower back, and surprise!—sent us a brand new one. And it’s actually great.

It feels more like a tool than a machine (which may or may not be what your yard needs), but so far, we’re happy. That said, we still have questions—like what exactly went wrong with the first mower, and whether this technology is built to last longer than two seasons. We're hopeful. And grateful to be able to mow again. So: Thanks, Dewalt.

We're relieved. But we’re also watching

Original review May 20, 2025
We've had our electric mower for 18 months and it will no longer operate for more than ten seconds. It appears to be under recall but when I got to submit an online repair/return request, it tells me my product is not eligible.

Also, right this instant, I've been on hold and suddenly was disconnected. I submitted an email to customer service and received directions to submit my mower through the online repair form. UM... you guys.

In what world is it okay to charge $600 for a product that dies in less than two years? And what am I supposed to do with it now, send it to the landfill? Do better, Dewalt.

I've loved your tools for 20 years. This is not ok.

Lack of Warranty Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Jun 29, 2025

Stay away at all costs. Warranty claims are ignored.

It takes an hour to get through. Thenumber says they will call back if you want. Never happens or you ask for a time and it tells you available. Once at 7:00 P.M.

and they said they will call back sometime between 2 and 6!!Reps are rude, they claim supervisors do exist.

One supervisor emailed me, I answered andno reply to it or 6 follow up emails. Once the product is sold they could care less.

Original review Jun 13, 2025

Rep kept putting me off, hours on the phone just to get a battery and

charger. Countless broken promises, unanswered emails and

messages, refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor.

Tried

to put it off on the retailer. Obviously an offshore call center

with representatives who lacked the slightest idea of what they

were doing even with a simple problem.

Poor customer record keeping online

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Great equipment but recently discovered they no longer have any of the online registrations for over a dozen of our portable units. They say they dont have our contact info on file, yet send us advertisements regularly.

Also their helpdesk system is more interested in signing us up for a free Zendesk trial than keeping a stabile text connection open. They dont have my information but seems theyve shared it over the web to advertisers

Pros:
  • Swapable batteries provide flexibility
  • Easy to use
  • Durable
Cons:
  • Website and zendesk help unreliable and not secure

Preferred solution: My online list of registered equipment for reference but at this point will have to go back to find paper receipts and original packaging.

User's recommendation: Don’t bother registering your products. They won’t recognize your registration but most likely share for marketing gain.

Dewalt tool co. Their QC on grinder DW758 is nonexistent when it comes to the grinding wheels.

They range from poor to the point of self destruction from vibration becoming with the locking nut coming lose and launching stone causing death to the operator . I as a user will not except a replacement becaus of this hazard. No compensation was offered so I can purchase quality stones.

From the reviews submitted to Amazon this is the rule .

Sincerely, T. D.Griffin

Fed up with subpar products

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been a loyal Dewalt customer for 30 years. I still have my original set of 18V that I purchased in 1996.

Those tools have been through it. I've got 3 of the 18V to 20V adapters. I still use them at home. But at work, I'm a contractor, and my expectation for my tools is high.

It seems to me that over the past few years, not only have the prices gotten ridiculous, but the quality of the tools has fallen off substantially. I have boxes of broken tools and dead batteries: 3 broken oscillators, 2 broken 'hatchet' sawzalls, lots of busted or worn-out drills and impacts, even 2 hammer drills, tons of dead batteries. Heck, I had a 6 amp hour come out of the package dead. I've bought the copper cutter and PVC cutter attachments only to have them break in less than a week.

I've spent so much money with Dewalt that it's insane. It makes me want to just go out and buy all new tools from a more affordable brand like Bauer and just trash the junk you are selling.

I feel like I've made a poor decision in sticking with my favorite brand of tools and paying top price for them for all these years. I guess I've learned a valuable lesson here: paying for the best tools doesn't always deliver the best tools.

Battery choice

I was ready to purchase a DeWalt 22 hedge trimmer for about $130. The DeWalt name has resonated with me over the years as a quality line of tools.

I then realized that I need a battery and a battery charger.

The local ACE store said that would cost $169. I do not own any other DeWalt tools so I do not have a charger.

I now realize that the trimmer, battery and charger will cost about $310.

That is beyond my budget as a homeowner.

My reason for contacting DeWalt was to verify which battery and charger I needed.

My initial effort to talk to C/S failed. I could not connect to anybody nor could I start a chat.
